Default Civic exhaust question

Ok, I was wondering what I would need to be able to bolt up a cat back exhaust from a 00 Civic SI to my 98 DX. I picked the exhaust up extremely cheap and I figured it flows at least a little better than my DX. Would I need headers from an EX? Or an EX cat? Or anything aftermarket? Just seeing if I can make this work cheap. Thanks guys! Rick

You should not have problems bolting it up, but I would recommend getting an Si cat if the catback is for the Si.

You shouldn't have problems though.

You WILL have problems. The DX has the cat on the header, rather than down by the exhaust.

Like the guy before me said, you will need an EX header. You will also need an EX cat.

if u want to keep ur existing header and cat intact..u could just put a new downpipe from the cat. down..then flange it at the end and hook up with the Si system

On the EX, is the cat up infront of the engine like on a DX? Or is it down under? I was hopeing to get rid of the incredibly short exhaust manifold on the DX that I cant see as being power friendly. Thanks! Rick

io have a friend on here and i know her personally but forgot his screen name. He has a 96 dx sedan and he just installed a ex header and high flow with a 92-00 greddy evo. So it can be done.

i dont think that it will fit because the si catback will only fit the 99-00 si and 92-00 ex
