cel 54 help!!

cel 54 help!!
when i start the car a few times today. i hear some gear grinding noise when the car is trying to crank, then i hear the ignition starting the car. the car starts and drives fine except for the gear grinding on ignition and cel# 54
is it bad to keep doing this and driving on it for one more day before i take it back to the shop tomorrow?

Sounds like the one-way clutch in the starter is taking a crap on you, prepare for a new starter and an inspection of the teeth on the flywheel/flexplate.
54 is CKF sensor, on the oil pump housing, it is a 3 pin connector right near the alternator on the back side of the intake manifold, check the see if it is disconnected/cut.
