Default Starter Problems?

I happened to have run my car for a total of about 3hrs straight on the highway. I get out take care of business come back and the car won't start. Not only will it not start but it's not making any noise when i turn the key I mean nothing. I still had power but the car just made no noise. Usually it would turnover but nothing. What's more ironic is that I get the car started by popping the clutch after a friendly push and I have no other problems with the car that night the next morning I go start my car and realize she's throwing a CEL. This is weird because if it was something why didn't the computer pick up the problem in the first place, but rather waited a day to catch on? Need Help Please!

But it sounds like either loose connections, maybe at your starter, or maybe your starter is going out. If your alternator were bad I think your car wouldn't have been able to keep running so long.

Try rapping on the starter with a broom handle while trying to start. If that kicks your starter into working, then you need a new starter. If not, start measuring voltages, looking for loose connections, maybe even a battery that won't hold a charge.
