Will it hurt to drive in this state? The motor idles at like 12-1300 rpm. Will it just eat more gas?

yea seems to be eating gas at twice the rate, mainly cause of high idle. other than that it seems ok for now.
what would be the easiest fix? just get a new MAP sensor? there really is no junk yards around here where i can get one from. All the yards are for old domestic ****.

yeah most of the time a code 3 is a bad map sensor. if there are no salvage yards around you, you might want to try ebay. the some times have them for sale pretty reasonable. remember though that they are used, but in the same token, brand new will cause you to pay about $200 or more.

here is my orignal thread when stuff started happening...

The battery and alt checked out. They are getting the proper voltage. The car was running better. kinda dropping in rpms, but nothing to make it stall out anymore. Then 2 days later i get the cel for the map sensor.
Is it possible the boost that i gave fried the sensor?

did you have the battery checked out?
did you replace the alternator?
the problems may be unrelated if an issue was found... but a dieing MAP sensor may cause the car to run like you described.
basically any map sensor from a 96+ civic or OBD2 teg will work on your car.
