Default map sensor code/problems

I got a cel for a map sensor and I got one from my buddy and I know it works. I put on the car starts idles to 2000rpm and then just drops downs fast and dies. But with mine the car starts rough then starts ideling at 1100 rpm and that's the same time the cel comes on. And when I drive the car has no power under 2500rp just bogs and sputters but fine after 3000rpm

Do you get a CEL with both ECUs?

Why do you keep asking about the ecu. Just wondering because I never mentioned it. But I changed it to see if the codes would go away.

Because if you swapped the MAP sensor with a known working one then it goes to reason the MAP is probably not the issue. Therefore you need to start looking elsewhere.

So to answer Ron's question. Do you get the same codes with the 2 different ECU's or are they different codes?

ok my ecu is a jdm P30 and I swaped the map sensors and my car didt start. Put the old map sensor back on and had the rough start then went to my buddys and pluged his p28 that he used on his b16 but I didt change map sensors or check the codes.

MAP code and a high idle indicates a possible vacuum leak.
