car stalling?????
my ek sometimes stall when i come to a complete stop but not all the time. sometimes once a week or sometimes 5 or 6 times a day. i really don't know what the problem is , i have tried adjusting my timing and adjusting my trottle cable line so it will idle higher but neither works. my car idle's at about 500-600 rpm. and i think that is too low.
someone help me please.
thanks

The idle is about right (are you expecting it to idle at 1000 rpm?), but the stalling obviously isn't. This sounds like something that happened to me a few months ago. The engine would idle okay sometimes but then suddenly stall on other days. Turns out the valve lash was too tight. Readjusted it to stock settings, reset the idle per the Helms instructions, and all was well.

As did I. Do you think just because they're pros that they don't mess up? That's like assuming Michael Schumacher never spins off. He spun like three times during practice this weekend. (Luckily he's better come race time.) Anyway, I talked to a service manager at my local Honda dealer, and he said to check the valve clearances, which I did. Turns out they were too tight. The mechanic who originally set the clearances at the independent shop no longer works there. I hope it isn't due to his mechanical ability because he's worked on my car before w/o a problem. That's my $.02. It may not be the solution to your problem, but I experienced similar symptoms, and readjusting the valves made it go away.
