car over heating

car over heating
i have a switch to my fan at low speeds the car is fine but once i get on a high way it starts over heating , when i turn the fan off it will cool off n start over heating again . and when im on the high way with the fan off its even worse , what could be the problem ? please help

what fan" your heater? im asumming your thermostat is almost dead. what year is your car. have you ever serviced your cooling system?

i know when a friends car kept overheating he had a blown head gasket.
did you check for coolant in your oil and oil in your coolant.
also check for pressurized coolant hoses.
