Cooling Fan not turning on? Help!
Items replaced -
Headgasket - head was milled & checked by a machine shop*
Water pump
Fan Switch (twice!! once used and one new )
T Stat
When I jump the wires at the plug for the fan at the T stat - the fan runs just fine. I can't figure out why it won't turn on? The only thing
out of the ordinary is the cooling hose running from the heater core to the T Stat housing is not hot when the rest of the hoses
are really hot - thus no heat in the car. I am wondering if the heater core is plugged up with all the stop leak crap put into the cooling system to fix
the blown head gasket from the last owner? I still don't see why that wouldn't allow the fan to turn on?
Also the previous owner had the fan hot wired on. The fan has come on by itself two times, but coolant was already
bubbling into the coolant overflow - car was technically overheating....
I plan on flushing out the heater core tomorrow but after that... I'm stuck!
Thanks!

What kind of thermostat are you using ??? If it isn't a genuine Honda one for your application, get one, swap it out and try again.

Radiator is probably also clogged up with stop-leak. The fan switch measures the temperature of the coolant leaving the radiator. If there is little or no flow through the radiator, fan will not come on, and engine will overheat-- but because of lack of flow, not that the fan didn't come on.
If you drive with the fan jumped to run all the time, does it overheat? If it does, the problem is other than the fan.

I’ll jump the fan and drive around today and see what happens. As for the T stat its a value craft unit from vatozone.

The more I thought about the cooling system being clogged, the more sense it made. Swapped them out today and the fan started cycling properly.
Thanks!
Thanks!
