Can't get oil pressure
I searched and couldn't find anything. Maybe I suck at searching.
Freshly OE Rebuilt d16y8 with new oil pump.
I have the fuel injectors unplugged and the dizzy to try to make oil pressure without starting the thing.
Been cranking on the starter for probably 4-5 minutes now without a hit of anything happening. Does it normally take this long?
I checked to make sure that the oil light sensor was plugged in.
Checked the oil level and it hasn't dropped at all.
My battery is about to die and i really don't want to burn out my starter. Can anybody help?

Re: Can't get oil pressure
I had the same problem when I rebuilt my engine. The pump has no prime. I removed the oil filter and took an oil can and squirted oil into the hole that leads to the pump( the smaller one on the outside, not the large hole the filter screws onto). I did this until the oil started leaking out of the hole. I spun the engine backwards once or twice to get the oil into the pump then cranked it. It started spurting oil all over the place after that.
