no oil pressure? oil pump is brand new
i just replaced the oil pump in my h23a and my oil pressure guage is not reading any oil pressure? pick up was clean no cloggs. ive used the search bar for 2 hrs now and it says the same thing. help please!
well i;m pretty sure i'm getting oil in the head. took off the oil cap while engine is on and see the little drops of oil jump out and engine isnt making any weird noises besides idling shitty. no ticking or knocking. oil has no metal shavings.
the gauge stopped working after i did the swap. there are no crimps in the hose.
the engine

Re: no oil pressure? oil pump is brand new
If "Yes", did you validate the sending unit is accurate prior to the oil pump change?
The thing is, I find it HIGHLY unlikely that two consecutive pumps would be unable to generate any pressure; that leads me to conclude one of the following things is wrong with your engine:
- The sending unit is bad
- The main and rod bearings are completely shot and all of the pumped oil is just being dumped back into the pan

Did you replace the oil pump because the gauge was showing no pressure?

i replaced the oil pump for a swap. but my oil pump guage was still working fine before the swap. the motor runs and stays on and sounds normal
