Building my B18C GSR
So I want to know where to start really lol. I've been looking around about basic bolt ons and what not (wanting to build all motor, maybe turbo later).
So far what i've searched are:
Intake manifold
headers
cam gears
ITB's (after everything else)
ECU
Pistons
I know there is more but I'm spacing, I've been at school for too long .
Can anyone send me to a link with help or give me a list of stuff and good
vendor names to buy them from.
Thanks

well a lot of people are going to tell you to search because the topic has been covered. but what are your power goals? and also what are you using the car for? (daily drive, road race, drag, etc)

Re: Building my B18C GSR
welcome man i see you are new here...with that said you are wasting your money with most of the stuff you have listed off. if you're doing a N/A GSR guild your need high compression pistons and most likely some kinda forged rods, if you're planning to boost later. I would also consider getting your head ported and polished with a whole new valve train, as for cams i would suggest ITR cams they are good for everyday driving but are better then stock gsr cams. as for the intake manifold i would just get that port matched to the head they flow pretty good as is. then get it tuned, a good tune is where most of your power will come from. if you think you are going to boost it later i wouldn't do the high compression pistons. as for exhaust and intake they do not net you a lot of horse power on a stock set up but when built they will benefit you more.

Re: Building my B18C GSR
my power goals are nothing specific, just higher than what i have lol (which is unknown). I guess anything around 250 or so for now, if there is a link to a topic i'd love to see it because I searched and didn't find it or not for what i put in the search anyway lol.
This is just going to be a DD maybe some street racing, I just like to know I can kick *** if anyone tries me on the streets haha .
SpeedoKing:
You say ITR cams, what about Skunk2? Are those more for serious drivers, more toward the drag?

Re: Building my B18C GSR
depending on what stage you get i say ITR b/c they are usually cheaper. my suggestions are to google camshafts and read up on the durations and find out what works for you. The more aggressive you go the rougher idle will get.

250 hp will be tough, and very expensive!!!
Use some B16A pistons, Skunk pro cams, better intake manifold and header, maybe a light weight flywheel and you will be in the 200hp range

Re: Building my B18C GSR
Welcome to the site. I suggest you go through the dyno thread and compare some of the builds to what performance gains you are looking to get from your personal build. The link is provided below.
