Default broken dipstick

how stupid is this? I changed my oil the other day and I went to check the level, and the plastic handle of the dipstick breaks off, leaving the rest of it stuck inside that tube the leads to the oil pan. Anyone have any idea how to get it out? I really hope I'm not gonna have to pull my oil pan.....

the rubber stopper that connects to the metal "stick" is jammed inside that tube, lol....everything is sealed thats for sure. And its made of plastic, so scratch the magnet idea.

dig something into the plastic and try to pry it out.

or dremel a slot into the metal tube and use the space to dig that sucker out

Last I checked you can take the dipstick tube off once the header's out of the way. Just pull that off and grab the stick...not too tough at all.

lmao this has actually happened to me not long ago, but my dipstick didn't get jammed down into the tube. I did break the handle off though lol. I was working on my car and leaning over my engine bay when I slipped on some oil and i just creamed the dipstick with my arm and snapped the handle right off.

Try this.

Look for some thin plyers or tweezers.

Lube up the inside of the dipstick pipe,(with oil)

And tug a little.
