Brake upgrade / FAQ questions (newbie)
Greetings!
I'm new to this forum and have two questions:
1. I would like to upgrade the brakes (rear especially) on my '98 Civic EX Coupe. What are some of the better options out there in the sub-$1k range?
2. Is there a FAQ here for some of the dumber newbie questions I might have? Apologies if it is in front of my face - I couldn't find one.
Thanks in advance.

1. when you say upgrade, do you want bigger brakes? oh and why the rear? most of the weight is in the front? if you have stock front brakes and upgraded rear brakes...you might run into some under/over steering issues. also, what kind of motor do you have on your car now? if it doesn't put out significant power, then there's no need to upgrade your brakes.
2. i'm not sure if there is a FAQ on your questions...depends what they are...

Re: Brake upgrade / FAQ questions (acydphryck)
I'm looking for more stopping power before I start upgrading the go power. One look at the wimpy drum brakes on the back made me think the back would be a good place to start. I definitely want to keep the braking power well balanced between front and rear.
As for the motor, I'm not entirely sure which one I have (b16?) that's why I was wondering about an FAQ. I'm new to Hondas (I'm into BMWs mainly) and have no clue as to what is what (yet).
Thanks!
steve

And to you for considering getting the car ready before you just give it lots of power.
