Brake Question...Is this possible?
If someone wanted to upgrade the braking system in an R, would it be possible to upgrade the front (say spoons, etc) and use the stock front brakes/rotors in the rear? Or would it not be worth it, just buy new rear brakes as well?
Just thinking about something down the line...seems like a way to help out the rear brakes w/ out having to spend anymore than the astronomical prices of the aftermarket fronts!
Thanks guys
jason

The only thing you have to watch is that your brake bias (f/r) doesn't get altered too much. Having front rotors/calipers in the rear would give you waay too much rear brake bias and the car would become dangerous under panic/severe braking or would just lock up and spin the car.

There is no reason to upgrade the rear brakes. Don't do it. You are best off just getting the Spoons in front and leaving the back brakes.

well you wouldn't know until you tried.
most race teams either run stock brakes or upgraded fronts only.
Even if you upgraded both front and rear brakes, your limiting factor would be how much braking grip the tires you run can provide. The race teams are using slicks most of the time, but the ones that use street tires have a brake-bias adjuster in the cockpit.
If you did this on a street car, you would just lock up the brakes, skid and hit something.
All the R needs for maximum braking performance is good rubber, good pads, good fluid and good cooling of the front brakes.
