Be all end all, how can I put X brakes on Y car
these reposts are getting out of hand.....everyone post whatever info you know on brake swaps so we can refer back to this post when the inevitable repost occurs.
I for one know that....
GSR/LS/99-00 civic SI rear brakes are the SAME
when doing a rear disk conversion you can get the prop valve, and MC from the teg, but you don't HAVE to....
I don't have them on mine, and it works fine.
use of integra parking brake cables is fine.
you don't HAVE to buy the whole trailing arm assemby...the trailing arms are the same....it is just easier than swapping out the spindal, and installing all brake components.
Integra front rotors are the same size as EX front rotors...Integra Calipers are bigger.
that's all I got right now...feel free to add

Re: Be all end all, how can I put X brakes on Y car (SuperDragII)
is this thread set up for me Antonio?
If u are putting brakes on a ek and u want to swap out the proportionvavle u must get one off a 99 si. The integra ones are totaly different.

Well you can buy parts from salvage yards pretty cheap too and get all four corners beefed up in no time, using oem brembo blank rotors will keep costs down and give you the most surface area and heat dissipating mass possible to reduce brake problemns related to excess heat from hard driving.
~Fastbrakes offers a lot of upgrade kits and supports them well while also offering discounts to H-Tech members.
~He has kits that can fit 11" front rotors on oem civic spindles from the non-EX models that have 9.5" front rotors stock.
~He also has kits that fit 11" rotors onto Integras and also civic EX/Si's.
~Wilwood also has a terrific front 2 piston caliper with 2 piece big rotor kit for cheap.
Good thread, I was getting a bit sickand tired of this sh*t too...

Re: Be all end all, how can I put X brakes on Y car (owen_the_soyboy)
another piece of advice would be not to buy your rear disk conversion from Import Auto Salvage.......There motors are ine but just about evrything they gave me for my rear disk swap has gone back to them...only thing left is the passenger trailing arm and the master cylinder...and I believe I might be sending back the master cylinder

Okay, for 1992-1995 Civics let me say this:
1992-1993 Civics ALL have smaller rotors thatn the Integra - even the Si hatch and EX coupes in 1993.
1994-1995 EX and 1994 Si ABS have same size rotors, but like DragII said the calipers seem to be smaller on the Civics and they also carry different part numbers. I have proof of this with scans of part numbers from parts catalogs.
With that said, here is what MOST people do to upgrade their brakes to Integra specs - all of the following are not ABSOLUTES, but they make it much easier:
Get the entire front spindles from any 1994-2001 Integra. This should include the spindles, calipers, hangers, rotors, lines, and dust shields.
Simply unbolt the upper and lower balljoints, and the ball joint that connects to the outer tie rod ends, disconnect the lines and swap the spindles. Would be a good idea to have badly rusted rotors turned or replaced, and throw in new brake pads too if possible.
For the rears, try to get the entire rear trailing arms assemblies with the parking brake cables too. Then just swap the entire traling arms and you're pretty much done.
Now, for the optional **** that WILL make a difference in braking and mostly pedal feel:
1994-2001 GS-R, LS, RS, any Integra brake booster. This bolts into any 1992-1995 with ease. BOLTS right in.
***IMPORTANT***
You MUST have an Integra booster in order to run an Integra master cylinder! Although the lines fit perfectly on the Intgegra RS mastercylinder, no Integra master cylinder will bolt up to the CIVIC brake booster. Get the Integra booster and you will have to run an Integra master cylinder too.
Integra RS master cylinder. The base model RS Integra had NO ABS so the lines match up PERFECT with any non-abs Civic - which most of you have. I have done this in my own car and it truly bolts in.
The Integra master cylinder is a 15/16th whgile the Civic non-abs uses a smaller 13/16th master cylinder.
Finally, add the GS-R, LS, RS, etc. proportion valve and you will have completed the package. 1992-1993 Civics will require you to change JUST the bracket over - use the Teg prop valve with the Civic bracket. 1994-1995 Civics can use the Integra bracket.
1-800-962-8922 is the number to Import Auto Salvage. They sell the most complete brake swaps I've see yet. Call and ask for Larry Jr. or Randy Joeb - tell them TOM from Georgia sent you.
Good luck, and now Trey or someone else please post the EK how-to<IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmile.gif" BORDER="0">

Sorry that On Point had problems with import Auto Salvage - maybe it's just an EK thing, but i've seen numerous EG set-ups and have bopught 2 now.
Everything was perfect.

crx si comes w/ rear disks, and they swap right over to the ef hatch...you can also use 90-93 teg rear brakes...although I have heard doing the trailing arm swap throws off camber in those models.

If you want a 1" master cylnider, you can get it from any integra with ABS. Just make sure to get the inner/back hose fitting (threads are larger, tubing same size) and cut your old fitting off and flare the integra one on. Then you will have to bend the crap out of the line that goes to the front/top of the master cylinder.

Let's get Trey on this thread for a nice EK how-to for brake conversions.
He has done front and rear on his EK

Ive got front and rear on my EK too
97 GSR trailing arms and ebrake cables
97 GSR knuckle assembly
97 1" ABS Master Cylinder w/ matching Brake Booster (had to reflare one line to a differnet fitting)
SI Steel Braided Lines

For 96-00s this is what I've come to learn (please correct me if I'm wrong)...
Si front spindles are required to mount Integra calipers. You can use Integra spindles, but they're slightly taller, and you might end up with positive camber unless you really lower the front end a lot. Along with Si spindles, you'll need the dampner fork as well.
For the rear, DC2 trailing arms with brake assembly & parking cable is an easy swap for those of you who want disc brakes in the back of your Civic. You don't need the Integra LCA's either, just use the one that's on your car already.
I hope this helps.

Re: Be all end all, how can I put X brakes on Y car (CheezeFrog)
Well I'm no expert by anymeans but here is what I did to my 96 CX:
Fronts are the CX hubs with the Fastbrake 11" upgrade and Wilwood 4-piston calipers.
Rears are from a 99 Si, I got the whole rear trailing arms and cables. Everthing bolted up w/o problems. Very simple swap.
I got the MC is from a 98 teg and it bolted up fine. The CX MC is a 13/16th and the Teg is a 15/16".
I also used a 99 Si porp valve but I'm not sure if it was from an Si with ABS or not. I'd prefer non-ABS. The stamp on the Si porp valve says C24CE 9C7 08. The CX porp valve says T1CE 5S8 24. What that all means, I dunno? Use it for comparsion.
Again, there isn't a need to swap the MC. All a bigger bore will do is make the pedal travel shorter. The CX MC will work fine.

Re: Be all end all, how can I put X brakes on Y car
Just some more info...dunno if this is a repeat, but I didn't catch it up top...
96-00 Civic EX, 99-00 Civic Si, and 94-01 Integras all have same rotors and calipers.
ITR calipers are the same as above, but wider to accomodate wider rotors.
1" MC's from Integras need to have either the top hardline flared or replaced w/ custom stainless lines to fit onto a Civic.
92-95 Civic and 94-01 Integra proportioning valves are directly bolt-on swappable.
96-00 Civics have a different proportioning valve from Integras so all hardlines much be changed (a big PITA!).
99-00 Si's have a 4040 (4 wheel disc) p-valve that should fit 96-00 Civics.

hey,
the info from bhcvc above is kind of 'raw' and not entirely true if you take it literally.
just a FYI for this somewhat technical thread

owen: what do I have off? Lemme know. Thanks!
50%: the hardlines only need to be changed if you're changing out the p-valve on a 96-00 civic to a 94-01 teg. If all you're doing is the rear brakes and not touching the p-v, than it doesn't matter.

sorry to bring this back to the top. I was checking on part #'s and Hparts.com shows the same part # for the Si prop valve and the 98 Dx hatch with rear drums? Anyone know about this?

Just some more information on the EK Master cylinder swap, I used a 98+ ITR M/C & booster on my car and it was a direct bolt on w/ no re-working any lines at all.

So it bolted to your stock brake booster and brake lines no problem at all? That is a 1 inch MC also right?

Re: Be all end all, how can I put X brakes on Y car (B18CJDM)
just did a rear disc brake conversion on my civic just past sunday from a gsr....i feel more braking power but the pedal seems to go down lower....which will fix this problem?...swapping out the master cylinder or the proportioning valve?...thanks
