i just changed my brake pads and i got new stock rotors on my 98 civic coupe.....but it still makes a sqweaking noises when i drive like its rubbing against something. it made the same noise even before i changed everything ....what do i do????????

did it come w/ shims, or do you even know what shims are? it might need some brake grease and shims if they are not already on there to stop the chatter. Shims are very thin metal or paper piece that goes between the back of the pad and the caliper.

You might want to search this topic also. It has been covered many times.

yeah the shims are there and there greased up but it still makes a sqweeking noise when i drive...

well hmmm...if you changed pads and rotors, and everything is installed right, I don't know. Search while your wating for a reply from someone who does know. There is a lot of good tech info on here if you search correctly. Choose the "archived" option when you do. Goodluck

If everything is installed correctly, then you are ok. You may just need to brake (haha) jk the rotors and pads in, and it should go away after a while. Good luck!!
