boost vs boost
I have 2 options sitting in my lap. I know this guys who is trying to sell me a Jackson Racing supercharger. It's new, in the box, and comes with the Jackson Racing boost dependent regulator, gauges, big boost pulley, map sensor stuff, and all of the other goodies. I saw it last night and he wants to sell it to me for $1000. The other option is a brand new T3/T4 turbo (A/R 48 to 60), charge piping, equal length manifold, greddy intercooler, apexi BOV, downpipe, boost dependent regulator, Tial wastegate, etc. for 950. Which is better? How much gain would the supercharger give vs the turbo at 7psi? Which is more reliable? Any info would be useful.

Go Turbo. Supercharger is just belt driven, which has no lag. Turbo is alot more powerful, depending on your boost setting and your engine set up. Reliablitity just depends on your engine.....

I'd personally go with the turbo as well. Much more room for modification later in life and much more versatile. Check the forced induction forum too, you probably will get more answers there.

Go with the SC unless your planning on building the internals of the engine. Turbos produce more power in the grand scheme of things, but you have to be built with forged internals and all that goes with that to really take advantage. Plus a new MAP sensor, then comes the ECU mods, then, and then, and then, etc.
SC is more driveable. You will have more power at lower RPMs and still be able to produce 7psi easily. How much PSI is the pulley going to make?

So a 8lb pully will bring your Y7 to roughly 160HP, then with a Y8 head and some other goodies, I think it is a nice street car.
Instant HP must be nice, low end response and all that.

Re: (95strfytr)
you have to find out the trim on the turbo. there is a chance it is too big for your motor, meaning that you wont make any power until like 5500 rpm, then be shifting at 7. not too nice for a streetcar. as much of a turbo bastard as i am, you might want to get the jackson racing, and then get rid of the big boost pulley for the 6 or 7 psi one. your car will be night and day on only that, trust me.
or......you can buy the turbo stuff, sell the turbo for something a little more suited for a d16

Turbo= high end Honda=high end
Super=low end Honda= no torque, not a muscle car
Personally, I dont like supercharged hondas
