b16a2 swap
hey,
I got a 99' hatch and I'am thinking about swapping in a b16a2 motor, I just have two questions. Is it true that I have to buy a 99' or newer motor in order for it to be legal? Also around how much you think it would cost for me to have someone drop it in for me, as I have neither the knowledge or tools.
is there anything else I should know?
thanks

Yeah, it depends on where you live. Here, it's not illegal, but if you swap from OBD-II to OBD-I, you won't pass emissions.
As far as price, don't know because I had my boyfriend put it in for me.
Anything else you should know- swapping from OBD-II to OBD-I is a total pain in the ***! You will usually have an erratic idle & weird electrical/voltage problems. If that's what you're doing, you need a good engine management system & a good tuner.
