Default b16a2 oil dipstick reading

so i have a 99 civic si every time i go check my oil dipstick it show nothing on it even after i change my oil it still doesn't read anything i don't know what up with it

are you using the right dipstick? no oil showing up after 4.5-5qts of oil? a dipstick thats too short wont be submerged into the oil pan enough to get a reading.

fresh oil should still show up on a dipstick

I agree, I think the dipstick is to short. There's no way 4 1/2 quarts of oil are not showing up on the correct dipstick, unless your leaving the drain plug out and its running out on the ground as you pour it in.

Wrong dipstick, and you most likely over filled it, so check that as well.....

i have the right dipstick because i got new one from honda still dont read after i put 4.5 qt into it so i dont my homie boy say it might be my oil pick up that wrong

WOW that's very strange, i've never heard of this, try 1.8 ls or gs-r and see what happens.
You suppose to see oil on dipstick, unless your doing something wrong.
