Default b16a2 into eg question...

So I bought a b16a2 and im going to be dropping it into my 92 vx... there's a sensor on the motor down by the crank... it seems to be an obd2 thing, I don't want to convert the car to obd2, so do I really need that sensor? And the car is daily driven, not really lookin to go fast at all I just don't want that little d15 anymore, if that helps at all... thanks

Nooo... OBD1 and OBD2 distributors are electrically identical. Literally the only difference is the plug(s) OBD2 USDM engines however had an additional sensor called a CKF sensor mounted to the oil pump. The OBD2 USDM ECU compares the signal between the CKP sensor in the distributor and the CKF sensor on the oil pump, the signals should be the same, if they aren't (IE CKF sensor isn't there) the engine runs like crap If you run and OBD1 or JDM OBD2 ECU it wont be an issue because the ECU wont be looking for a CKF sensor.

Nope, OBD2. The B16A3 (found in the '94 - '95 Del Sol VTEC) however was OBD1
