Icon6 B18C Type R question

For a B18C type R if you're looking at a complete swap the 98+ model is anywhere from $600 to $1000 more than a 96-97 model but from what I can gather the hp is only 10 more and the torque is the same. What's the deal that makes the 98+ spec so much more desirable as to bring that much more money?

No the swap is 3-4K. I mean the 98+ $600 to $1000 MORE than a 96-97 model.

Transmission gearing is a little different, if I remember correctly (someone correct me if I'm wrong here). The head is ported by a machine, verses the hand port jobs of the '96-'97. If you get the exhaust manifold, it's a better design than the '96-'97 one. Other than that, I can't think of anything else that is different.

all correct.... those are the differences.... the final drive in the tranny is whats different... makes for quicker acceleration... and you get a nice robot doing consistant porting instead of hyong kang chang ming getting paid 10 yen an hour to work a carbide bit on a drill lol....

The $600 differences.....

- let's start by remembering the engine is "newer", usually means lower mileage
- header is a better, more expensive tubular design
- better intake camshaft for both lift and duration
- has fake CF spark plug cover, lol

Those all i can think of

Ahh...I see. So one just needs to decide if those differences are worth the extra money.
