ok so here is my problem.. i have a 2000 hatchback.. and im doing a b16a swap into it. i dont have any wire harness at all because i sold it with the last motor that was in there.. and the wire harness i got with the motor was for eg obd1. so do i need the obd2 harness?? for b16? or i heard somehting bout using a y8 harness will work??

any help would be aprecieated.. thanks

sum guy on here knew how to use the other harness with another obd2 setup.
what obd and year is that motor?

if the b16 is obd2 you can use your y8 harness. if not you got do some work

my motor is a b16a2.. and its obd2.. but i dont have a harness... so do i go with the y8 or b16 obd2??

i would just go obd1 ftw. otherwise u have a job ahead of u if u plan to use that harness

his car is a 2000 aka its OBD-2 already.. why would you tell him to put an OBD-1 harness on an OBD-2 motor going into an OBD-2 car???

If the motor is OBD-2 then I would just get any vtec harness from a 96-2000 civic so you could use an SI harness or an EX harness - either way there both going to be plug and play and you wont have to worry about wiring anything up besides your Vtec or getting a conversion harness for the ECU

To answer your question though a Y8 harness will work fine

wat will i have to do to the y8 if i got it to make it fit with the b16? i heard the distributor plug is different.. is that true? cause i found a y8 but im not sure of buying it..

you will need the 1999-2000 SI engine harness. your car is OBD2B, you will also need the Si ecu P2T,

i know.. my car is obd2 and the b16 is obd2... but if i buy the y8 obd2 harness will it fit perfectly or do i have to play with some wires?? and if so which wires?

you will have to fiddle with the dizzy plugs and some other wire im not sure. but yeah it will work just a couple wires u will have to fiddle with
