2 wires, knock and iab. cake.
the rest just need to be lengthened.

you will be doing NO wiring as long as its an ex. everything should be plug and play.\
well my d16y8 had a knock sensor so... watever, lol

I thought it was plug and play also with the exs but 2 of my friends got into a drunken argument with me about how this and that wouldn't work now the b16 head on the gsr block still should be plug and play on my stock ex harness correct? I know i have to change some wiring because Ill be using a obd2 motor or am I wrong?

i have been told obd2 tegs harnesses are the same as obd1 civics, but i havent tried it yet. i always use the harness from the car im putting the engine in.
the ecu plugs are way different.
what ecu are you using?

use your stock harness, have the p28 chipped for a gsr, eliminate the knock, the iab is gone with the b16 head, put it in, let it eat.

Re: Any good gsr into eg threads? (boostedcivicsir)
Thats why I asked for a good recommendation when it comes to wiring I am clueless. As far as eliminating the knock sensor how would I go about doing that?
Honestly Id like to run a knock sensor piece of mind kind of thing.
See the problem is the swap was done prior to me being the owner and it looks like a hack job so I was gonna convert the electrical back to stock and then rebuild the motor for nitrous then drop it back in and pretty much redo the swap.
What kind of electrical work would I run into putting the Poorman's Type-r back in to a virtually stock 95 civic ex?

if you are building for nitrous, you should have an ecu that is programmable. the s300 can control the nitrous for you. use the p28 because you arent going to use the knock anyway.
i have a built gsr, 34 psi boost and no knock on a p28 hondata s300.
no work at all doin the pmtr. its still a b series. look at it that way.

So regardless its plug and play except for the obd issue in which case I will have to wire different plugs in or make a jumper harness of some sort correct?

Re: Any good gsr into eg threads? (NitrousWhore)
your car is a 95. obd1. the p28 is obd1. if the p72 has 3 plugs with 2 rows of pins in each, its obd1. if it has 4 sockets, only pins in 3 and 3 rows in each, its obd2.
if its all obd1, its all p and p. no worries.

Re: Any good gsr into eg threads? (boostedcivicsir)
to make ur swap less of a hassle for you just get an obd 2 gsr or the 99-00 civic si engine harness. everything will be plug and play and you would not need to retap anything! but if you plan on running an obd 1 vtec engine harness you would need tap the knock sensor. it would also save u a lot of money just to run without the knock sensor because an obd 1 p72 is a pita to find and cost a lot depending on where u're from. the obd 2 a vtec engine harness will not work btw because it is a piece harness that goes straight to the ecu.
edit: if you plan on using the 00-01 gsr engine harness u would need to tap the wire for your speedometer. learned this from experience

a 99 civic si harness goes into the car straight to the ecu.
the teg harness would be a better choice, although i havent tried it so i cant say 100% it works.

u're correcto sir! hehe forgot all about that but yes using a gsr engine harness would be less of a hassle and it is plug and play.

Re: Any good gsr into eg threads? (eg_boi)
boostedcivicsir thank you for all the info I think I will do the stock civic wiring and the chipped ecu since I already have it Im just gonna leave my dash out and take out the rest of my interior, swap the under dash harness out and replace the underhood harness with a good condition oem one then rebuild the motor for nitrous and drop it in.
Yea the offical Nitrous thread lol iv read it.
Thats the reason why I'm building a nitrous motor.

if your not worrie about smog, use a p28, but if your worrie about smog, use a p72 and add knock sensor, it's just an easy one wire straight to the ecu. also, using a obd2 integra vtec harness would just be plug and play in ur 92-95 civic, but your gonna have to use obd2 injectors, alternator, distributor, etc. no ecu harness adapter involved.
