another auto to manual thread: 99 EK four door
I'm starting to piece together parts to swap the trans on my girlfriend's 99 LX and I still have a couple questions that I'm having trouble finding when searching. I read that I should change out the intake manifold for a y8 one (and I assume a y8 tb) and that it is necessary to rewire the IACV to the 2 pin version? Why? If I retain the factory ecu and just move around the jumpers is this still necessary? I plan on keeping the y7 and using either a z6 (S20?) or y8 trans (unknown code). Any quick input would be great. I've been searching for days but the topics are endless!
by the way-have all the pedals, manual y7 throttle body (just in case, looks the same to me), the master cylinder, clutch lines, linkage, and all the bolts for only ~$84.00. Trying to spend less than $250 total.

I did the auto to manual swap in March of 2007 and have LOVED it ever since. I did my swap in a 5th gen so I'm not able to help you out much since there are a few differences in both gens. These are the parts that I used for my conversion. I also had a tin can with all of the nuts and bolts needed.

If you stick with the Y7 motor with a manual Y7 ECU, than you do not have to worry about the IACV at all.
