altenator plug
my friend Chang mong wants to know if he can switch his altenator rather than cut and switch altenator plugs. 98 civic that had y7 now obd1 gsr motor
And will and obd2b SI harness work for his motor if we got an obd2b to obd1 conversion?

Your trying to use a obd2b SI harness on a obd1 gsr motor? No that won't work...since the dizzy, alt. plugs are different and I believe all obd2 motors have a knock sensor. The obd2b to obd1 conversion harness just makes it so you can use a ob1 ecu.

yes..thats what we want to do..obd2b to obd1. conversion harness and obd1p28. and we can get an adapter from rywire for the dizzy. im asking if the altenator from a D series will bolt to the gsr motor and work fine?

The D series won't bolt up. Just get an obd2 B series alternator. Or swap the harness plug.

Just so you know you did not need to cut any wires, the plugs on the alternator itself can be swapped out. Just pop the cover off and unscrew it very easy to do
