99 EX Won't Start
I have a few ideas on what this could be, but I thought I'd help out a friend and see what else it could be. My friend has a 1999 EX (automatic) with about 80k miles. He went to go start it the other day, but it'll just crank. 3/4 of a tank of gas, the whole works. It just seems like nothing's sparking, because the crank seems to have this certain rhythm to it. But that could just be me, I'm used to working on older Hondas. It sounds like it's not sparking. Maybe ignition or starter? I was wondering if anyone else has some input on this.

Re: 99 EX Won't Start (ISELLRIGHTHANDDRIVES)
must be something with spark.... change the wires, cap rotor, etc
i have a buddy that had soem bad wires(spark plug wires) and it stalled with missfiring cylinder... changed the wires and it was fine after that..(same car as you stated)

......how about you actually check for spark? take one of the wires out and stick a screw driver in it...put it near the valve cover (really close) and crank it
if theres no spark...then its most likely your distributor...

it could be the main relay too.
when you put the key in the ON position, you should hear the fuel pump run when the check engine light comes on and the pump stop when the light goes off. and you should also hear a click under the dash.. that would be the relay clicking on. if you dont hear the pump prime or the click under the dash, its the main relay.
the reason i say it could be the main relay is because i see youre from Texas and extreme heat can cause relays to act up. i replaced my relay earlier this summer because it would sometimes have trouble starting, and i also replaced my sisters relay in her Accord. i just think a main relay is more likely to go out than something in the distributor... just something you can try. good luck.
