went to track today (92 hatchcrap)
first off, i posted this here because this forum usually has the most insight in their comments... move if needed..
so its wednesday and the last night of the drags at sears point (www.infineonraceway.com)...
i ran my slightly modified civic dx hatch and came with some times i felt were pretty good... here's the slip
r/t: .619
60ft: 2.479
330ft: 6.750
1/8: 10.386
mph: 66.78
1000ft: 13.571
1/4: 16.269
mph: 83.48
i ran with no passenger seat, or rear seats... my car is lowered with custom ground controls and kyb agx's... besides that, its stock.... oh yeah, the intake resonator is gone also...
what you think? pretty good? it was hot and sticky out there, so after a few runs i decided that its better to launch a little higher... this run i launched at 4000rpm, dumping the clutch.. good wheel spin, my best run....i'm happy, now its time to dump in the new motor...

i too launched high, i kept it at 4000rpm flat... once the second yellow hit, i dumped it and the tires spun pretty nicely... rpm's didn't drop much and all i got was traction ... a little later i slammed it into second, seriously, i was tryin as hard as i could... 15's would be nice, just a little more work needed

when you all say you launched high and spun tires good, thats not good, feather the clutch a little bit, you dont want the car to bog down, but you dont want to spin the tires alot, you want a lil chirp and then mad grip YO

Wow, you guys are gettin some serious times with your D15's. My best with mine was 16.7 at 83. However, I now have my time slip from this weekend's points race(which I coincidently won) with my 95 hatch running a ZC VTEC, full interior, no spare tire, 13 inch steelies on the front:
Dial in: 15.51
Reaction: .216 (here, .000 is perfect, so bad light)
60 ft.: 2.355
E.T.: 15.549
MPH:89.048

Oh yea! I used to live in colorado, denver area. I went from a 15.7 at carlsbad with my sohc to 17.9 at bandimere!! I was like WTF!!
I turbo'd the sohc and got it down to a 13.4. Turbo is the way to go at high elevation.
