99 civic ex
I just purchased a 99 civic ex and I'm what what kind of bolt ons I can do to get a little more performance out of it. I say bolt ons for now for a quickand easy fix until I do more.

SWAP is what I say. If you want to keep stock engine, then get a nitrous, best bang for the buck (plus you can take kit off if you blow your motor and get warranty work)

Re: 99 civic ex (khoalie)
cpe = coupe
This is generally the least desirable platform for serious speed due to their weight. Unless you are talking about a DX coupe. They're not much more heavier than a hatchback. (Run a search on various posts covering this)
The general consensus on this board will tell you to save for a swap. If that is in the planbook for ya then by all means start saving and hook it up. It will definately yield you the best results in the long run.
Quick, cheap STRAIGHT LINE speed. Put a 75 shot nitrous kit on it and play with that for a while.
Basic all-motor mods (intake, header & exhaust) will only give you about a +15-20hp advantage.
Another suggestion, put on a turbo kit. Run it until the SOHC blows. Then either get another SOHC for dirt cheap and build up the hurt one or get a DOHC and modify the old turbo to fit the new beast.
Either way.......come up with some sort of plan and take your time and do things right the first time.
HAVE FUN!!!
Peace,

that best thing is to go turbo on a single cause that sohc wont beable to pull the weight of the cpe. or just get a b series.

base curb weight from factory (give or take a few lbs.):
99-00 cx hatch = 2359lbs.
99-00 dx hatch = 2388lbs.
99-00 dx coupe = 2359lbs.
99-00 hx coupe = 2370lbs.
99-00 ex coupe = 2513lbs.
99-00 si coupe = 2601lbs.
i got this from consumer guide....so i assume its a pretty legit source.... i've always thought that dx hatches are lighter than dx/hx coupes but i dunno. heres the link:
