When trying to unlock and lock with the power switch, i can hear the relay under the dash and passenger side locks and unlocks sometimes. Passenger door look works fine from inside manually and outside using the key but i can not say the same for the driver side. I took the interior panel off but dont want to get further into the door lock because i cant really see into it and dont want to start taking other things apart when i shouldnt.

The door panel has to come off then take the plastic off but dont tare it...and look in there....sounds like the push rod is out of place from the key to the handle!!!

Are you saying that you cannot open the driver's door easily with the key?

I did all of that and i dont know what to really look for and its difficult to see what is inside. I have not taken off the mounting screws for the latch. Im going to try that now.

the door opens and close but i can not get the door to lock, it remains unlocked. Tried to manually lock inside and with the keys outside but the lock is stuck open/unlocked.

Spray some key lock lubricant into the outside lock hole. You can buy this lubricant from Walmart.

Have you checked the lock rod connection from the lock switch to the latch?

Thanks for the diagram! I notice the rod from the lock cylinder to the latch has a lot free play, and i dont think that is normal but i cant see or tell what is wrong with it. Is there a substitute for that lubricant? I dont really want to drive to walmart.

You might try WD40.

no, but i do not believe its electric related because i manually can not do it. If i can manually do it and not with the remote or the power switch then i would believe it is electrical, however i can be totally wrong.
