96civic dx, possible to swap catless header?
i drive a 96 dx hatch, it looks like my header is beginning to crack, even if its not im still curious if it is possible to swap a header without a cat, like a header from the vtec motors or anything like that, and is it possible to do so while leaving the rest of the exhaust stock or do u need to get the full exhaust with cat and everything... thanks in advance

In the 6th gen Civic, only the EX and SI had the cat underneath the car. All other models had the cat on the exhaust manifold. Since you have a 'D' series motor, I would recommend getting an EX exhaust manifold, flexpipe #9, converter #4 and ext (B) pipe #18. You should be able to bolt on your stock muffler #3.
#9 in the pic below 18210-S01-A72 PIPE A, EX. $153.86
#18 in the pic below 18220-S04-A92 PIPE B, EX. $151.44
#4 the catalytic converter
and you will also need the upper part of the exhaust manifold (not pictured) and you will have to extend your 02 sensor wires to reach the new cat location

Re: (TheJGB3)
this is what youll need.
header (aftermarket) or oem (96-00 civic ex)
cat converter (aftermarket ~12inches long) or oem (96-00 civic ex)
extend secondary O2 sensor.
done.
-edit- and youll need to do something bout the exhaust piping where it meets the cat.

Excellent info guys.
All I see needed extra is that the exhaust piping needs to be cut and the appropriate flange needs to be added to bolt the new under-car convertor to the exhaust b pipe.
