95 civic ex with custom turbo - looking for maintence suggestions
Hey everyone. I just bought a 95 civic ex 1.6 VTEC from a good friend of mine. It has a custom turbo set up on it. Ill be using it as my daily driver for the next year or 2. It has 77,000 original miles on the shell and the motor. Most of the internals are brand new as are the headgasket, timing belt, water pump etc... its currently running at 9 1/2-10psi. its been professionally tuned and done right as far as ive been told. i havent done anything besides change the oil since i got it about 2 weeks ago. is there anything special i need to do maintenance wise or is there anything in particular i should be doing or looking for? i drive it normal about 85% of the time. believe it or not i still get around 34mpg!! any response is appreciated.

I change the oil a little more frequently than you usually would with a non-boosted engine. Nothing other than that. 2 years and counting.

ummmm only thing that comes to mind is maintain it regularly and check for boost leaks every oil change to maintain good performance from your set up. along with that just inspect everything for leaks or loose parts, nothing magical needs to be done, maintaining your car is no different than maintaining a car that is factory turbo'd

The only difference as far as a turbo'd car vs. normal is to change the oil more often. The turbo gets the oil very hot and thus it breaks down quicker. Also, after any hard driving make sure you let the car idle for a couple minutes before shutting off so that the oil/turbo has a chance to cool..
