Default 93 Civic DX rear drum question?

Ok i understand that. If you push down on the retainer spring with a screwdriver , then turn the tension pin to align its blade with the slot in the retainer spring - the spring should pop off on both side .

But im now stuck. I want to know if there is a way to loosen the tension of the spring by adjusting the adjuster bolt and which way? pushing it upward or down using the flat head?

What is the best way to pull it off? the top springs or lower return spring on the bottom?
well hope u guys could help me out. thanks for reading. i would love to get some helpful tips and info.

you can only tighten it with a flat head. i believe there's a screw to loosen it..
