92 civic crazy idling problem
Im having trouble with my civic. When i start it it jumps up to about 2200 rpms. After it warms up a little the rpms jump up and down from 2500 to 1000 while idling. Now ive replaced the throttle body and sensor with a new one. Tried looking for a vacuum leak didnt see anything. And im at a loss for words. if anyone has any idea what this could be let me know id appreciate it.

Re: 92 civic crazy idling problem
i had the same problem for weeks. everyone told me to check for vacuum leaks and clean iacv and throttle body. i did all that, didn't change a thing. take your FITV apart completely and tighten the plastic **** inside of it. the looser it is the higher your rpms are going to be, and the tighter the lower your rpms will be. the vibration of my car loosens it so i often have to take it apart and tighten it

Re: 92 civic crazy idling problem
I had the same problem a few weeks ago also I took my IACV off and sprayed it out with carb cleaner then let it dry for about 20 mins hooked it back up still the same problem. So I was like I'll deal with it another day well the longer I drove it the better the idle is so maybe you should give it a try just don't lose the o ring.
