Patience little grasshopper... you want free technical support and repair information but you aren't willing to wait four hours for a response ??? On a weekend day at that. Your problem isn't an emergency... it is just aggravating. The FITV is actually bolted to the bottom of the throttle body, and before you just assume it is the problem, you can test it to be sure. Crank the car and let it idle. Just inside of the inlet of the throttle body, in front of the throttle blade itself, you will see two holes... one at the 8 o-clock position and one at the 10 o-clock position. Placing your finger over the 8 o-clock hole should stop the hunting idle problem if the FITV is the issue, settling the idle out to smooth. If this was the the issue, then lets continue to diagnose the FITV. Pinch off both cooling lines leading to the FITV and remove them. Remove the three 10mm bolts holding the FITV to the bottom of the T/B. There are two 8mm bolts holding the end cap on the valve. Remove the end cap and look at the brass colored plunger and white sealing ring. Screw the white sealing ring clockwise until it is all the way in. You may have to push down on the brass plunger at the same time to make it easier to screw in the white ring. You can use a medium flat head screwdriver (or a pair of needle nosed pliers to rotate it from both slots in the ring) to insure the sealing ring is tight. At this point, shake the FITV and make sure you don't hear anything rattling... if you do, the brass plunger or the plunger shaft is likely damaged and a replacement FITV will be needed. Otherwise, re install the end plate with the 8mm screws, bolt it back up to the bottom of the T/B with the three 10mm bolts, re connect your cooling lines, and restart the car to make sure you are fixed.

All done. You're welcome.

The fitv is not underneith the t/b, it's at the other end of the intake. There's nothing under the throttle body. I've placed my finger over both holes, the 10 o clock position an settles down the idle. So I'm wondering if that port is for the iac or the fitv. I've tightened that white piece all the way. Still does it. Cleaned the fitv and iac.
