5 wire o2 sensor
hey guys, my wife has a civic eg vtec-e (d15z1) code 48 is flashing on the dash, which is a LAF sensor (o2 sensor right?)
anyway, its wideband right? i have a SPARE plx bosch sensor, could i nor wire it in? really need help here, does anyone have one spare?

you can but you will still get a code most likely, or even if the code doesnt pop up its not going to give an accurate reading. the resistance is going to change when you splice the original harness and therefore the values will always be wrong.

i tried wiring it in, most of the iwres where the same color except 2, the check engine light came on, so i rewired the old one back in, you say it wont be the same even if i wired the old one back in? i dont fully understand....

the impedance scale to lambda is very precise w/ a wideband, and cutting splicing the wires in any system/component changes the resistance, therefore the whole scale is incorrect. not saying it wont run right or throw a light, it just wont be as exact as a new working wideband.
