well, it's winter.
so I stored my car

bought a 92 lx for 300$ with a blown engine for a beater.

I still had my spare d15b7 from my hatch in my garage so I slapped her in.
took me about 2 days (1 weekend) to get her in and running, and 2 weeks to finish up all the other **** to get it safetied and all and running perfect.

so anyways, tonight I finally finished everything and I took it out for my first spin. it ran fine, tranny made a little noise when in neutral, but it always did that even in my old hatch.

so I was driving it to a garage to get it safetied and etested and heard a pop! and I could no longer put it gear.

well I can put it in gear, but it just wont take. I can fully put it in all 5 gears and reverse. but it's as if I'm stuck in nutral

so I'm thinking it's the clutch, but I really have no clue.


when the tow truck came, there was a puddle of anti freeze on the streets. I have no clue why.

hmmm, if you heard a pop. could be your diff blew up? antifreeze puddel could just be coinisedence? if it wont go into gear, sounds to me like the diff went or maybe your bolts on the slave cylinder came off and the slave isnt disengaging the clutch anymore. maybe the clutch fork popped off. if you take the slave off the trans, you can wiggle the clutch fork. other than that i couldnt tell ya and ive had my fair share of diffs blow so i know what those are like.

So does your clutch pedal have pressure?
Are you sure it's antifreeze and not your clutch fluid?

This kinda happened to me once. My clutch pedal went limp and there was some sort of fluid under my car and by my pedals.
It turned out that my clutch and slave cylinder had taken a **** on me and clutch fluid was all over.

Your 100% sure its anti freeze? Because that makes no sense. Was this day or night?

Yea sounds like an axle to me, right after i did a tranny swap my axle popped out and i could put it in any gear and it would rev but wouldnt move.

it really sounds like ur axel popped out ur diff is designed to give power to the wheel that is spinning if there is no axel then no resistance on that wheel all power goes to the side with no resistance

same type of thing happened to me in my 01 Civic and i thought it was an axel at first as well but it ended up being a cracked lower control arm

yea, my clutch still had pressure

and I'm 100% sure it was anti freeze, it was at night, but the stuff was green.


the car is at the shop right now, but they have'nt had a chance to look at it yet. i'll know tommorow morning what the damage is.
