yo, when swaping the 00 ex to any b series motor obd1. is it all plug and play or is there still wiring to do. and if so what is needed other than the obd2b-obd1 jumper.

you'll have to change the injector plugs,distributor plugs,and alternator plug,since all of those are different on the OBDI motor from your OBDII harness.you'll also have to add the knock sensor wire,and IAB wire if it is a GSR.i think i got everything-somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

Yeah, your right Chris.

you will need a obd1-obd2 adapter. You might want to thinnk about using an Si wiring harness, so you don't have to add plugs.

i have a '99 lx with a b18c in it and all i had to do was get a si harness and run some wires and it works perfectly fine.... which motor are you looking into?

i'm assuming your motor was an OBDII setup then?
he's asking about an OBDI motor.

i'm doing ls/vtec 95 ls block with 92 b16 head. so you're saying that an si harness will solve all the problems. well chris said that i will need to change my distributor plugs if i use my stock ex harness is that hard to do? how about them other plugs them plugs hard to rewire too....

alternator:you can get an OBDII B-series alternator and it will plug into your stock harness/Si harness.
you can get an OBDI alternator plug and splice it onto your OBDII harness to plug into the OBDI alternator.
i seem to rememember also seeing something on here about swapping the back plate on the alternator so that you could put an OBDI style plug onto an OBDII alternator,or vice versa.BUT,i'm not sure if you could swap your stock D-series OBDII alternator plug onto the B-series OBDI alternator-i'm not sure if those D and B series part are interchangable.

injectors:you could swap in OBDII injectors and they'll plug into your OBDII harness.
otherwise you'll need to get a hold of some OBDI injector plugs to plice onto your OBDII harness so it'll plug into the OBDI injectors.

Distributor:you could get an OBDII B16 dizzy so it'll plug into your OBDII harness.
you could also splice an OBDII distributor plug onto your OBDI dizzy so it'll plug into your OBDII harness.
you could also splice OBDI plugs onto your OBDII harness so it'll plug into the OBDI dizzy.

Easiest thing to do would be just swap out the OBD1 dist, injectors and alt or OBD2 ones. I went the other right and just modified my existing harness and had a few problems. But if money is a problem that is an option. I would recommend swapping the above mentioned parts for obd2 and then getting an si harness with an adapter.

yeah,it would definately be easiest to convert to all OBDII components so it all plugs right in......


i'm not sure if i'll be at Expo this year.girlfriend is dues just a couple weeks before,so we'll have to see how that goes.
