Default 1999 Honda Civic 4 door Cat question and a couple others

I have a 1999 Honda Civic 4 door sedan. 4-2-1 Ebay header, short ram intake, no cat, N1 muffler on the end. I was wondering if I put this Ebay high flow cat on it it would sound a lot better and improve my performance and gas mileage.

Also when I turn the key to prime the fuel pump the D4 light comes on and then when the relay in the dash on passenger side clicks the D4 goes off. Sometimes the car wont start and I do not know the reason why. And sometimes the d4 light blinks and the transmission slips. and over drive doesn't kick in all the time only when it wants to. And sometimes the car surges and idles real high for like ten times and then it idles normal. Can anyone help me with these questions? Please and thank you.

Auto or manual tranny? I assume auto since you mention D4... any CEL's?

Sounds to me like its either the torque converter or clutch packs in your tranny that are going south...

Stupid question, but have you checked the tranny fluid levels?

Also, have you tried to pull any codes from the computer?

The D4 hasn't blinked at all in the past few weeks. It's been shifting great just overdrive wont kick in for some reason. And could you take a look and answer my other question on this thread please?

Yeah the fluid is fine in it aswell. Not really sure if the CEL actually works though.. Hmm that could be another reason.

I'm suprised your not throwing a code with no CAT. Did you run a dummy o2 sensor bypass on the secondary?

I used the stock ones that came with the old cat. I scrapped it it was all melted inside.
The O2 sensor with all the holes in it it looks like a sponge that one it is all melted

I would check to see if you have any codes. The TPS signal is used by the ECU to tell the transmission when to shift gears.
