Default cat questiion

i have a 92 sedan with a jdm d16a vtec(yes d16a) single cam 130 hp.
a jdm d15b auto tranny, short inake, and a universal exaust. will taking off my catylytic converter improve my acceleration. if so does anyone know of any diys on this and how hard will it be. alos what are the results i .e how much of a gain will it give me

you could just get a hi flow cat which will still be legal for inspection and it may help the performance of the car
