Default High Flow Cat

just a quick question, for a high flow cat, it doesnt matter if your header and exhaust piping is 2.25'' or 2.50'' right? I just bought a generic high flow cat from ebay, and i am wondering what the result will of that...i hope it wont be too loud. Thanx

You probably just bought a resonator. If it is the crappy ebay ones for $40, it is nothing more than a resonator. Trying to make a real, functioning cat with $40 is impossible.

i tried to install my cat, and i found out that the side to connect the cat and the header was welded on sideways. I had to go take it to a muffler shop and pay like 35bucks to have it cut and welded back on. I guess that is what you get if when you pay 10bucks for one on ebay. well ne ways, everything seems fine, the car got a little louder, and it smells like rotten eggs when i stop at a light. It feels a little more responsive, other then that I cant really tell of any HP gains.

Everyone here seems to have hi flow cats confused with testpipes. Or is that what you were looking for?

The cat (or test pipe, whatever) the flanges were welded sideways for a jdm itr header i bet Atleast i know my header was sideways so i welded on my own flanges. Much easier that way

PS, get a carsound hi flow. Very impressive, good flow and quiet. 2.5" is the way to go for mild build NA

its supose to be a test pipe...a friend brought one from ebay.....for his gsr and it works pretty good.....makes more power in the high end....also a little bit loud due to the straight pipe......
