1998 DX auto tranny shifting problem
At times, usually when into the throttle more, the transmission is hesitant to shift up and instead acts like it's in neutral. You can either lift off the gas and it will shift sometimes pretty hard, or manually shift it and it's fine. Would this be an issue of the shift solenoid on the front of the transmission sticking intermitently?
I have a spare trans from an auto to 5sp conversion but my back is really f'd or I'd just swap them out....swapping the solenoid would be easy enough it's a plug and a couple bolts. The car has alot of torque and will spin the tires from a stop on the dry so I feel like the clutch packs and converter are still in good shape, it just isn't shifting right.
