stalling and hard start when warm.
Car is in signature. I am new to it. May soon be my car but right now it is my sister's.
Point -
When the engine is cold, it starts easily.
When the engine is warm - gunning the throttle either kills the engine or it stalls and runs badly.
Sometimes after shutting down the engine when warm, it will not start until it cools a bit. Engine does not overheat.
Two years ago, a shop replaced the plugs, wires, distributer, rotor button, and cap. I did a resistance test of the coil and it came out fine. The main relay seems good but i resoldered the connections anyways. No damage was noted. PCV valve replaced. I cleaned the distributor components.
Was told possible coolant temp sensor or something wanting to stay in "open loop". No codes but the battery was disconnected during services.
I now would like to know what is the next step or what other common causes of the aforementioned symptoms are.
Thanks

Re: stalling and hard start when warm.
I replaced the ICM with one from a junkyard. Symptoms didn't really change.
I also tested the coolant temp sensor (not the sending unit for the dash gauge) and it seems to be alright. Not sure if the "new" IMC is any better than the old one.
Are there any real common problems that cause these problems? Every place i look seems to have different ideas. If this is so common there must be a common denominator?
