Default 1994 supercharged del sol vtec.

So I found a del sol for sale near me and I am trying to buy it. It is the vtec model and has a JRSC along with a much of suspension mods. 154k miles. I took a look at the car and there is no rust or oil leaks. Owner says it is tuned on a p28 chipped ecu and has about 210whp. Asking 3300 for it. Is that a fair price? I honestly would have bought it by now but my dad doesn't want me to spend that much of my money since kelly blue book says the car is worth 1600.

If it's in good condition, then yes it's easily worth that much.

The JRSC kit is no longer sold, which is both a pro and a con for you. Increases the value of the system, since there's still a demand for it, but also makes it harder to find documentation, help, and parts for the system if you ever run into issues.

Look into some common problems that the Del Sol is prone to, and see how many affect this car. I've never owned a Del Sol, but I know the targa tops are notorious for leaking. Look into things like that, give the car a good look over, but overall I'd consider $3000 for a car like that a pretty good deal.

I just bought a GSR swapped and Bar'd Del Sol with everything in working condition for about 3.5k

so i would say 3.3k is fair price.

Look very carefully at the overall quality of the work that was done to it. Look at the wiring, under the dash and under the hood. If you see a lot of splicing, random wires hanging out of looms, etc. then be ready to have electrical issues.

Watch out for non-oem hardware used when swapping suspension or other components. This shows general laziness and cutting corners by who built it.

Del sols are great cars, but buying someone elses project is rarely a good idea.

Well the term "project car" implies that the car is constantly undergoing changes, isn't necessarily finished, etc. I'd agree that buying someone's ongoing/unfinished project car is not always a good idea.

...but if it's a well sorted, properly done set-up that's been running like this for a while? If you are capable of building something properly, then you can also sort out the good and bad modified cars you're looking to buy. I've built a handful of Hondas for myself. I've also had absolutely FANTASTIC experiences buying someone else's "done" built Honda - twice now. The first one I bought almost ten years ago, and it's never given me an ounce of trouble. The second one I actually recently bought, and it's literally perfection in every way.

People get themselves into bad situations when they buy a modified car, and have zero clue what it truly is. If you don't know what you're getting, or how to figure out if it's done well, or poorly, then that's rarely ever a good idea. I think that's where all of the horror stories come from.
