1993 Civic DX will not start (new battery)
Hi guys:
Trying to figure out how to troubleshoot this.
Battery died jumped it and was able to drive around parked the car in the drive dead.
Tried jumping the battery and the car will not crank at all. Just a click.
Replaced the battery and still just a click....... what do I have to kick.... err look at to get this thing rolling again?
Engine is a 1.5.....
Thanks....

Re: 1993 Civic DX will not start (new battery)
Was there anything recently done to the car prior to the problem?
If battery is known to be good, remove the starter(simple 2 bolts, 1 nut and a connector), and take it to an auto parts store for a free testing.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, it was raining here and I just let him use my truck.
The starter is good. Any other ideas on troubleshooting the starting circuit on this car? I tried swapping out the ignition coil in the distributor since I found one in a junkyard (not sure if it is good come to think of it )
Anything else besides this I can look at like a fuse or relay that he could have burned out? I mean the car started on the first hit until he removed the battery.....
I just cannot figure for the life of me what shorted.....

Re: 1993 Civic DX will not start (new battery)
So before the problem started what changes were made to the vehicle?
As for the battery, where did you get this replacement from?
When you turn the key and try to start the car, besides the click do you see any signs of power loss on the dashboard or anything odd?

I will have to let you know what or if it is making a sound when I get home....
THat said I did have the timing chain replaced on the car and it had started several times with a jump because the battery was bad. I even drove it a good ways and back trying to charge the battery up..
It never hesitated or anything.
I had my kid take the battery to Autozone for an overnight charge and put it back in and the car did not say a thing. The battery was completely gone and would not take a jump so I just bought him a new one and told him to put it in.
Car still would not say anything, but all of the dash come on.
If you need more I can tell you more at roughly 5:30pm CST.
Thanks again

Yeah I cleaned those guys.... even used a voltmeter to make sure I was getting voltage further back on the wires and it shows the same as at the battery.
Thanks

Re: 1993 Civic DX will not start (new battery)
Hi guys:
No click when turning the key..... I still get power.
Is there anyway it could be a fuse or the ICM or even the master relay that would cause it not to start?
Thanks
