#@!D16 Rebuild!@#
Hi I drive a 96 hatch with a d16y7 in it. My timing belt snapped at 65 mph so you all know what happened ha. Just wanted some opinions on high compression camed d16 vs boosted d16. like comparing gas prices, and reliabilty because it is going to be my daily driver. i plan on boring it out .20 over no matter wich way i go because i am getting one of the kits from fjditributors.com. i just want to know which is more pratical and faster of course

Stop with all the PSI crap. It doesn't matter until you chose the turbo. If you're going to overbore the block and build it you can run a lot more horsepower. Pick the turbo capable of getting you to the horsepower you want to make. PSI will just be a byproduct of that combo.

If your timing belt snapped, I bet you just have some bent valves. Upgrade your valvetrain and do a mini me. A light boost build will make you very happy.
There's no need to build the bottom end when it's likely only your valves that are messed up.

You're talking about building an engine and boring it out then WHY would you use the pencil thin stock rods? At this point I would recommend you look over the build threads in the FI and NA forums. Plenty of examples of what people are running there to base your build off of without all this guesswork and incorrect reasoning.
