Default Compression Ratio too low?

I am following the thread on this board to build up a d16 using stock Toyota forged
pistons and b16 rods. The setup is pretty cheap.

The downside is that the wrist pin is 1mm higher on the Toyota pistons,
and when at TDC, the piston is 1mm from the top of the block.

I calculated this to be a 8.8 CR (normal is 9.1). I plan to run a t25, and I am
worried this is just too low for decent street driving. 8.8 might be good
for a high boost track car, but just seems low for my application. I have a d16a6 in a CRX.

Thoughts? My guess is that the engine will lose 13-14 HP w/o boost. Any
way to calulate this?

Opinions welcome.
John

uhh i think just about all factory turbo cars are at about 8:1 or 8.5:1 i would not worry about 8.8:1 you will have more lag down below but with the quick spool of a t25 you should not notice it much.

I run 8.9xx:1 and the car is a little piggy down low, off boost, but a quick spooling turbo will more than make up for it early in the rpm band.... around 2.5K you won't notice anymore....ESPECIALLY with a t25
