hmm, yeah you should def be able to pull a signal for the LOC (or re-q or cleansweep) from the OE sub plug wires...green + and red -
the LOC is known good? the amp is turning on, etc?
how many RCAs are you running from the LOC to the amp? just curious about that too...

it sounds like the amp might be the culprit because the rest of it is so basic, unless the LOC is defective as new.
so, you said one set of RCA is old...so that means the other is new, which = two RCA cables. i assume then that you are using two outputs of the LOC to two inputs on the amp. did you merge the two + wires from the input side of the LOC (speaker level) and then merge together the two - wires, and then connect those combinations to the green and red from the OE sub input?
hmm...i don't know an easy and accurate way to test an amp and LOC that is already installed except maybe tapping into another vehicles speaker wires and fabbing up/running makeshift jumpers from there to the feed wires for the LOC as it is installed and seeing if things change.
i mean, if you had a power supply and a bench head unit you could run wires from there but you probably do not, lol.

Re: 08 si stock HU aftermarket amp and sub
I'm looking at this car soon.
http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2020319922.html
Are there are problems that 2006 models had that I should be aware of? How can I tell if 3rd gear is messed up or if its been serviced for the recall? Will honda have a record if I give them the vin#?
