Troubleshooting 2004 Civic LX Auto Trans Linear Solenoids
Fluid ok. No DTC's.
This trans is a 4PMXAAO
Shift Solenoids check out ok with multimeter and jumper wires.
Linear Solenoids are not clicking.
I think I'm doing it wrong.
How do you check Linear Solenoids?
Thanks in advance.

I believe you check one terminal of the solenoids to ground for resistance within a standard range and the other terminal to the battery positive terminal for a clicking sound.

Thanks. Shift and Linear Solenoids were fine.
Trans threw PO730 then slipped in all gears above 1st. Left car at Trans shop.

So bro but P0730 is for the trans shop IMO... They should test clutch pressures and all the shift solenoids. P0730 is Problem in Shift Control System. Would be nice if it is just a bad solenoid.

Re: Troubleshooting 2004 Civic LX Auto Trans Linear Solenoids
All Solenoids checkout fine.
P0730 is a general code for Incorrect Gear Ratio.
Simply put; the RPM's don't match the speed.
PO731 is for 1st gear
PO732 is for second
etc
My trans is getting rebuilt. Threw a ring and the internals screens were plugged. Starving the whole thing. Sounded like I had a turbine in 1st gear.
Hope this thread helps someone else someday.
