Is my clutch going...?

Is my clutch going...?
Had my clutch replaced at aamco about 2yrs ago. Cost about $1100 total because I opted for the "OE quality parts" with the intention of lasting the life of the car... And get had to resurface the pressure plate I think they said?
Last week, my master clutch cylinder went. Replaced, and works great.... Until I give her gas and the RPMs rev up without the car going faster...
Does this sound like my clutch pedal Freeplay isn't set right, or the clutch slipping? The pedal is very firm, doesn't take much movement to shift at all. (I wonder if it's too high sometimes)

Re: Is my clutch going...?
I agree with the clutch not being bled right.
also I hope you mean the flywheel got resurfaced.
and $1100 sounds a bit outrageous for a clutch job. Especially if the flywheel was only resurfaced. And aamco are not "transmission specialists"...I've heard nothing but bad from them. I work in a dealership and I can say aamco sucks...just an FYI
a clutch job with oem parts should have been about a $700 job tops....

Re: Is my clutch going...?
Well my dealer quoted about $2000. I should've checked more dealers to be honest.
Update: clutch feels great now.
It does vary in how it engages. When it was super stiff and engaged near the top of the pedal, my clutch would slip.
Now I do get a little bit of free play, and it engages about halfway, no slip whatsoever. Not sure if it just broke in or what...
The mechanic didn't use OE parts of course, so I'm always suspect of that. I might order an OE part and save it and do it myself if it goes again.

Still varying in where the clutch engages in relation to the pedal. I had the new $1100 clutch put in a year ago, never had an issue until this aftermarket master clutch cylinder... I paid $300 to have it installed next day.
I'm really tempted to order an OE one for $125 and attempt to install it myself..

well before you do that, why not at least bleed it first, get all the air out - then see how it works out. way too many people just bash aftermarket parts when they don't even understand the failure mode.

I'm scared to try to bleed it, in the event it is leaking, and I end up just making the leak larger trying to bleed it. That's how I ended up stranded at the Advance Auto store LOL.
Are flare wrenches necessary you think for the hydraulic line?
