check valve means it works only one way. there will be an arrow ---> take it off and suck on it or blow and see which way works

Very nice bay for sure.

*edit*. I just reread what you said. DOH!
Are all the 96-00 civic hoses the same with the integrated check valve? I found different part numbers for them.. and the 2000 civic is way overpriced for some reason.
46402-S02-A11........2000 over 40$
46402-S01-A01.....1998
46402-S01-A11....1996 both around 15$

just wondering if theres any difference.

yeah ive jsut found out bout check valve. it has me confused. i got a 99 ej8 with a b16a3 swapped in tried to use my stock hose with check valve but car wont idle over 500 with it installed n half the time it just shuts off. now if i disconnect the hose from the intake mani itll idle at 900-1000 n will stay runnin. now i looked at part numbers for ex n si n both are diff. is there a flow difference or what?

There's no flow difference, but a length difference because you're dealing with different intake manifolds.

well i flipped my booster n moved port off intake mani got it pointin down. didnt cut the hose at all cause i just pulled it off my buddies car since couldnt find mine. so basically i could get a check valve off any honda? was thinkin bout gettin one from a teg that way i can make my own line.

or could i just run a line with no check valve? not exactly sure what the check valve does there

Are u guys without the check valve boosted? I'm guessing bad things would happen to that brake booster if it was to get "boosted". Correct me if i'm wrong though.

Vacuum enters the booster through a check valve on the booster. The check valve is connected to the engine with a rubber hose and acts as a one-way valve that allows vacuum to enter the booster but does not let it escape. The booster is an empty shell that is divided into two chambers by a rubber diaphragm. There is a valve in the diaphragm that remains open while your foot is off the brake pedal so that vacuum is allowed to fill both chambers. When you step on the brake pedal, the valve in the diaphragm closes, separating the two chambers and another valve opens to allow air in the chamber on the brake pedal side. This is what provides the power assist.

Have a good one.

Thanks E., glad I scrolled all the way down before I started typing. Sometimes I'm a little taken back by the lack of general knowledge in here. But then again, if we all knew everything already we wouldn't be in here anyways.

i think im just going to run my stock line, with the stock check valve in it.. dont want to experiment with different lines and check valves... its not that noticable anyway.
